Hydraulic impact hammer

A hydraulic impact hammer is a unit in which a ram weight is hydraulically driven with a cylinder and accelerated downwards providing an impact force on the top of a pile. By means of a serious impact frequency the pile is driven into the soil. The hydraulic system and ram weight are mounted in a steel open or closed frame with a drive cap at the underside. This drive cap is often mounted in a so called drive cap housing. In case the hammer frame is closed the hammer is most likely suitable for under water applications.
